Sleepover at Uncle Jeff's House

Last week I had work in San Diego so I planned a sleepover with my nephew Carter. Carter lives in Oceanside so I picked him up on my way home from San Diego and he spent the night at my house and the following day playing in Huntington Beach. We both had a blast. We had pizza thurs night and hung out at my place. Friday morning we got up and rode to the HB Pier and ate at Ruby's at the end of the pier for breakfast. We also went to the park and to a cool reptile store to look at the snakes, lizards, and turtles. Here is a video and some pics of our fun-filled sleepover. Thanks for hangin' out Carter!

It's that time of the year again..................SUPERCROSS!

Laugh all you want at my obsession with Supercross, it won't phase me. Last night I went to the race at Angels Stadium with friends and family. Great race. It's coming back on Feb 7th. I highly recommend you check it out. And for all you who laugh at it and call it white-trash that's fine, I've got no problem with you paying money to go to Angels Stadium to watch the Angels and sit through nine innings of the most boring sport to come out of the U.S., I'll stick to my Supercross. No hard feelings.
Here is a video and some photos from last night.

GO CHARGERS!

I kind of got burned out on this whole blogging thing but I experience something worth blogging about: The Chargers beat the Colts!!! If you know my Dad you know that he is the man with many connections. He was able to get me 2 tickets to the Chargers vs. Colts game in San Diego on Saturday. The stadium was packed and the fans were NUTS. The game was a nail-biter but the Chargers came through in OVERTIME thanks to Darren Sproles and beat the Colts and their MVP quarterback Payton Manning. Here are a few pics and a video.

Phoenix YMCA Half Marathon

So today I ran my 2nd half-marathon. Last year my friend Elijah and I ran our first race at Camp Pendleton and we hated our experience because it was all hills and we weren't prepared for it. We both finished the race and talked about how much we HATED it and would never do one again. Then for the next few days I kept thinking about how I wanted to do another one so I could get a better time and so I could beat Elijah. So we found this race in Phoenix that is mostly flat. I trained a lot better this time around and knew what to expect. My two goals were to beat my time last year and to do the whole race without stopping (last year I got to the last mile and my legs completely gave out and I had to walk for about 1/2 a mile). This time around the race was much more enjoyable and I did a better job at pacing myself and keeping the "I hate this" thoughts out of my head. I was able to pick up my pace quite a bit the last few miles and was so excited that I was doing so well. The last mile I gave it all I had and was excited that I did the race without stopping........until I got to the finish line and the clock said 2 hrs 4 mins. I couldn't have been more mad. My time last year was 2 hrs flat. "A worse time??!!! I hate this!!!!! I'm never doing this again!!!!!!" Sad thing is, I honestly thought to myself "I'll just go ahead and lie and tell people I beat my time from last year", ha. I knew something had to be wrong. There was a 5k race that started 10 mins before the 1/2 marathon and they started the clock for that race and kept it running through the half marathon. So my time was actually 1 hr 54 mins! After finding that out I decided I wanted to keep doing these races and was glad that my experience was so much better than last time. Now i'm thinking of doing a full marathon but just don't know if I want it THAT badly. I just might be content running 1/2 marathons. It keeps me in shape and when I tell people I run 1/2 marathons I may just leave off the 1/2 part and call myself a marathon runner.
P.S. I beat Elijah by 2 mins.

HAWAII

I'm behind on my blogging big time. I've been out of town for the last few weeks for work. Mid-August I went to Oahu, HI with my good buddy Mike Cunningham. Lezlie Wagners parents live there in Kailua and Lezlie was there for a month. So she invited us to come hang out for a week. It was an amazing week. Click here for a bunch of photos. Also, one of the coolest things I've done in a long time was the "Stairway to Heaven Hike". Click here to see photos of the hike.

Recent Activities

So i've been kind of lazy in posting pics from some different things I've done recently so I'm just going to post them in one entry. The last week of July was action packed. Tuesday I went to San Diego for the John Mayer concert, Thursday I went to L.A. for X Games 14 at the Staples Center, and Saturday I went to L.A. for X Games 14 at the Home Depot Center. Couldn't have asked for a better week. The week before that my friend Aubrey had her birthday and decided she wanted to have a "White Trash Birthday Party". So we all dressed up accordingly and had Root Beer, twinkies, Pork Rinds, and fake cigarettes. We're classy. Click here to check out the photos.

4th of July

This 4th was action packed. I got up early to run the HB 5k at 7am. We had a ton of people at 10 for the parade which passes right in front of our house. Went to the beach after for awhile and played whiffle ball. Went to a couple bbq's after that and watched the fireworks on the beach at night. Love the 4th. I posted photos from the parade on my website. Enjoy.
